About the church of Christ
Matt. 16:18 " And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it"
We believe in the 1st. century the church promised by Jesus was in fact established in Acts 2. Following the beginning of the church His apostles spoke about it, gave instructions concerning life in the church and how to become members of the church.
We as members of the local church of Christ strive to Teach and Practice the same things of the early church. We Strive to 'Speak where the Bible Speaks, and to be Silent where the Bible is Silent'. We also Strive to 'Do Bible things in Bible Ways' and to 'Call Bible things by Bible Names'.
We have no Earthly or National headquarters, only local autonomy. We believe Jesus is the 'Head of His church' as taught in the N.T. and practiced by the early church.

How to become a Christian
It is not important what the 'World' thinks the process is or 'how to become' a christian but it is important what God has said.
Hear: Listen to the Word of God. Romans 10:14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? So the 1st step is to Hear.
Believe: Again listen to what God says. Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ as well as Believing the One (God - Jesus) who has given them. Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Confession: Romans 10:9-11 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
Repent: Following the Hearing of God' Will and Belief in the Message and the Messenger a decision needs to be made. Follow or not follow? A ‘change of heart’ to now follow God and leave the desires of Sin and the World for a life in Christ with Heaven and it’s glories as your reward and end. Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Baptism: Part of that ‘Faith’ or ‘Belief’ is about Baptism. Peter answered a crowd of people who were convicted of their sins with these words: Acts 2:38 (NIV) Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus had given the ‘Great Commission for His followers, Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Follow: Once one becomes a Christian, not a ‘type of Christian,’ but a Christian only we need to ‘Continue’ listening and obeying God’s instructions. Most of the N.T. is instructions on ‘Living the Christian Life’. Instructions how to correctly Worship God and how to treat each other.
